Hah, they are called bánh vỏ sò where I live (North), but now I can't unsee the pig ear resemblance.

Ha! The first thing that I did when I saw that come in was delete it from my email before my husband saw it! Although he's lived throughout Asia over the years, he always said he'll eat anything there as long as you don't tell him (or show him) what it is!

Ha! The name can be a turn off. But I just learned that we can call them oyster shell cookies too. I don’t know about biting on an oyster shell… not a big deal. It’s a nice little cookie so look for it when you’re out and about here in the States or in Vietnam.
