New apps are always confusing but I quickly warmed up to this thing called Notes. Substack just launched it as a countermeasure to a bird-ish social media app. There are no ads and it’s an organic, un-mediated flow of content. I’m hoping Notes will help us reclaim our social media lives again.
I’ve been writing short posts on Substack Notes, and would love for you to join me there! For example, I just made these garlic noodles and was so blown away by their flavor that I had to “Note it”. And the pita were a surprisingly good find.
So, if you’re inclined, join me and other writers and readers on Notes. It’s a nice place to hang out, poke your head in and out, from time to time.
Notes is a new space on Substack for all of us — writers and readers — to share links, short posts, quotes, photos, and more. I plan to use it for things that don’t fit in the newsletter, like work-in-progress or quick questions.
How to join
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to Pass the Fish Sauce, you’ll automatically see my notes. Feel free to like, reply, or share them around!
Share notes of your own. I hope this becomes a space where every reader of Pass the Fish Sauce can share thoughts, ideas, and interesting quotes from the things we're reading on Substack and beyond.
If you encounter any issues, you can always refer to the Notes FAQ for assistance. Looking forward to seeing you there!
